From my birth to middle school I don't really remember a lot about my reading career. I do remember having a book shelf in my room. I don't really even remember going to book stores like we have today. -

Switched High Schools
After going to a public school all my life, my parents and I decided I would attend a private school. We felt that I would be much happier at a school that did not have as many students as the other school I was attending. In the public school I was attending I was making A's and really did not have to study or read much in order to succeed in school. -

Not only did I have trouble keeping up with the reading I did not understand what I was reading. I did not feel like I was taight how to read for learning. -

Start of Grad School
When I first started working on my Master's Degree I was very worried about the degree of reading. Since it takes me sometime to read I was worried that I would struggle with that aspect. I have since found that if I stay on top of things the reading just falls into place. -
Novel Study
I teach 5th grade reading. I want to instill the love of reading to my students. We started a novel study and we all learned a lot from a novel by Gary Paulsen. Until this study I never knew that you could learn so much from 1 book. -
