11 states had sent electors to choose the first president. The delegates formed a group called the Electoral College. The Electoral College is a body of electors who represent the people's vote in choosing the president. This was important because if we didn't have this, then nobody would be able to represent the people's votes, not being able to help the vote go through, and win. -
Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin died on April 17, 1790 in Philadelphia, PA. He died due to pleurisy. Pleurisy is when you have deep troubles breathing, causing pain. Benjamin died at the age of 84. This was a big deal in history because he was a leading figure in the American struggle for independence. -

The bank of the United States was established in 1791 to serve as a repository for federal funds and as the government's fiscal agent. The first bank was granted a twenty-year charter by Congress in spite of the opposition of the Jeffersonians to who it represented the dominance of unconstitutional use of federal power. -
U.S Presidential Succession Act passed
The Presidential Succession Act of 1792 was the first succession law passed by Congress. The compromise they worked out established the President pro tempore of the Senate as next in line after the Vice President, followed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. -
