Elizabeth was born to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. From the day she was born Elizabeth was not welcome. Her parents had dreamed of a son. Elizabeth's father was one of the main reasons Elizabeth grew up to become such a strong and ruling person. -

Taken Away
Elizabeth's mother, Anne Boleyn was arrested and taken away to the tower. Elizabeth began to become angry, hateful, and powerful within herself. Her mother was tried for treason, adultery and incest. On the 19th Anne was executed. Elizabeth and her mother were alot closer than her and her father, Henry. The saying, "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" applies to Elizabeth. -

It was only twenty-four hours before her mother's death when Henry re-married again. Henry continued to remarry countless times until his death, January 28,1547. Maybe it was Henry who made Elizabeth fearful and hateful towards men? -

Bloody Mary
England was returning to the religion of Roman Catholicism. Protestants were being persecuted and over 300 were burned. The drink name, "Bloody Mary" came from the fighting that was being done by Mary Tudor. Elizabeth envied Mary, she saw her as willful and powerful, which was something she hoped to become. Mary Tudor was the first to inspire Elizabeth. -

When Mary Tudor died, the throne was left to Elizabeth. Elizabeth was very pleased and excited to become the new Queen of England. Elizabeth considered the opportunity to be a "gift from God". The death of Mary Tudor was just the begginning of Elizabeth's memorable rule. -

Elizabeth was crowned Queen of England by Owen Oglethorpe. Her ceremony was over 3.5 million dollars! This event shows that Elizabeth loved to put on a good show and would stress no expense on luxury. -

The Elizabethan Prayer Book was written by Queen Elizabeth. It was made for the Angelican Church to list the duties and prayers they should perform. Elizabeth wanted to be involved in every part of her dominion. She loved the church and wanted to be in charge of the decisions. -

Black Death
The Black Death had broken out in London. Elizabeth had decided to move her court to Windsor Castle. She began to bring up the gallows and set up protection. She said that anyone from London who entered would be hanged. Elizabeth was a tough cookie who wasn't going to let anyone bring her down. -

Mary Queen of Scots was Elizabeth's cousin. Mary was fleeing from her own country over accusations of her claim to the throne. Just when Mary thought she was in the loving and protective arms of her cousin, Elizabeth put her to death. This story helps explain why Elizabeth is described as strong, heartless and wasn't going to let anyone get in her way. -
Death
Elizabeth dies of blood poisoning. James I of England becomes the King. James is the great great grandson of Henry VIII. Elizabeth will not be forgotten throughout history. She was a dedicated, powerful, unmoving force that most would be scared of. Her stories and legends of her kingdom will never die.
