    The Paleo Indians hunt animals to survive as the tempurature increased.

    The change of climate created new environments for both the people and the animals. As the tempyrature increased, the amount of grass that grew increased which lead to more animals, and that lead to the Paleo Indians hunting the animals for survival.
  • Period: 8000 BCE to 1500

    The world before the opening of the Atlantic.

    For alot of years, many Native American tribes have lived in the americas before the exploration of europe. It also shows three very distinct types of cultures: African, Native American, and European.
  • 1325 BCE

    The Aztecs find their capital city, Tenochtitlán.

    The city became the greatest city in the Americas and also one of the biggest cities in the world.

    The Roman Republic was created.

    The Romans elected one senate to rule for one year each time.

    The begining of the Ghana starts.

    Ghana Empire was formed by Soninke familes and people bonding together when the herders were threatening them.

    Europe divides into many smaller kingdoms.

    This division of Europe was the sign of the Middle Ages starting.It happened as the Roman Empire fell.

    Leif Eriksson makes it to the Americas

    It was told that Eriksson was when he sailing from Norway to Greenland, strong winds blew and the ship was carried to Canada. But he came back few years later because of the Native Americans constanly threatening them.

    New empires in the Americas.

    In this period of time, the European countries start to discover the "New World" that they never knew about. many voyages set sail to the americas with three reasons: spreading of religion, new souce of trade and spices, and lastly curiosity. As that happens, Europe also goes through alot of changes and how thay look at the world.

    The explorers search for the Northwest Passage to the Pacific Ocean.

    Many countries in Europe were eager to find the Northwest Passage to go to Asia. However, as the ships went north, it got cold and people were lacking food.No one actually made it to the pacific through the Northwest Passage.

    Christopher Columbus sails across the Atlantic and Discovers the "New World" .

    After a month of just sea, when he saw land he thought that he found a route to Asia. Instead, he land ed on the Bahamas. He made three more journeys after that. In 1504, Colombus returned to Spain in poor health. He died 2 years later, still believing that he had reached to Asia.

    The Columbian Exchange comes to existence

    Because of Columbus's voyage, many other explorers try to explore the world. They bring theirs thimgs and come back with new resources from the Americas.

    Vasco Da Gama reaches to Asia for the first time.

    Da Gama was sent by King Mannuel of Portugal on an expedition South Africa. He was surprised in the fact that the Muslims there talked to them in Portuguese.Later he made two more trips to India and he even governed a small colony there.

    The Spanish Government legalizes the sale of slaves in its colonies.

    Nearly 12 million Africans were shipped as slaves to North America between 1520 and 1860. The slave trade qickly spread into North America.

    The Spanish explorations of the North America starts.

    After the collapse of the two empires, many other explorers come to America and discover big chunks of lands.Explorers like Juan Ponce de Leon, Hernando de Soto, Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, and many other people explored North America.

    Martin Luther criticizes the Roman Catholic Church.

    Martin Luther charged that the church has abused its weathiness. This claim that Martin Luther charged started the Protestant Reformation.

    The european disease wipes out the the majority of the Native Americans.

    The Diseases that killed the Native Americans such as smallpox, typhus, and measles were immune to the Europeans. But these diseases were not immune to the Native Americans. This caused the Europeans to enslave Africans.

    The English Colonies

    In the number of years, the settlers from Europe set sail to america and build colonies there. It shows various ways in how colonies were created and also a variety of the leaders. This chapter shows how they adapted their new homes, what conflicts were happening, and what events that occured there.
  • The colonists find Jamestown.

    $0 miles north from Virginia, 105 colonists found Jamestown on April 26, 1607. This settlement was the first permanent English settlement in North America.
  • The Dutch finds New Netherland and New Amsterdam which later changed its name to New York and New Jersey.

    The Dutch people found New Netherland in 1613 and used the place for trading.Inside of New Netherland, there was New Amsterdam on Manhattan Island. However in 1664, there was an English fleet that captured the colony without a single fire from the ship. In a result, New Netherland was changed to New York and New Amsterdam was changed to New Jersey.
  • The Mayflower lands at Plymouth Rock, present day Massachusetts.

    Not everyone on the ship were Pilgrims, but a Pilgrim leader set sail with the ship. When the landed on Massachusetts, It was winter by the time they got there. The Pilgrims had to live through the winter and about half of the people died during the first winter because of sickness and coldness.
  • Spain establishes the encomienda system.

    The Spanish people made the native americans work in their fields and pay taxes. But many of the peninsulares treated the native people as slaves. However, the penonsulares promised to protect the native people in return.
  • King Charles II gives Penn a charter to bagin a colony west to New Jersey

    Penn was a Quaker that wanted his fellow Quakers to live in safety where they do not get persecuted. Pennsylivania, which was the name of Penn's colony grew rapidly. He promised religious freedom to all and welcomed any immigrants. Penn's work made Pennsylvania a great example of self-government to other colonies.
  • James II becomes king of England in 1685

    When he became the king, he had more power over the government, both the colonies and in England. In 1686, James united all the northern colonies into one called the Dominion of New England; he did that because he thought the colonies were too independent. James puts Sir Edmund Andros in charge, but the colonists didn't like him because the abused his power to limit the power of town meetings.
  • Enslaved Africans becomes the main souce of labor.

    The southern colonies farming required alot of difficult work for growing and harvesting, meaning you would need more people to work. Most of the southern colonies had slave codes because the population of the slaves have increased in the colonies.This kept the slaves from rebelling againt the colonists.
  • 70 percent of the men and 45 percent of the women in New England could read and write.

    Unlike Virginia, the people in Massachusetts contributed and participated in building an education. The parents wanted the next generation to have a good future, the people built schools and even collages later on to teach kids how to read and write.
  • The Stamp Act of 1765 is proposed from the British government.

    When this was proposed by Grenville, the protest against the Stamp Act began almost immediately, but Grenville did not expect it to happen. The British government was finding new ways to tax the American colonies and they came up with this idea. People would go to jail or be fined if they refused to buy stamps.
  • Parilament ageeed and passed the Tea Act in 1773.

    Many merchants smugglers from the colonies feared that the cheap teas from British East India would put them out of buisness. The ships loaded with teas arrirved in Boston Harbor in 1773. But when the ships were about to leave, the governor did not let the ships to leave unless thay paid taxes and duty to them. On the night on December 16, 1773, the Indians sneaked into the three boats and dumped 340 chests of tea into Boston Harbor. This event became known as the Boston Tea Party.
  • Modern Day-America-Sanction between N. Korea and the U.S.

    The U.S has put a sanction on North Korea to make them make less money, and eventually making them go out of buisness.This connects to the past because In the native colonies, people had alot of trading and if someone disliked that person, thay can not trade with that guy anf make the guy go out of buisness.
