The declaration of dependence was written by Thomas Jefferson. It was written for the purpose of breaking free from Spain. -

The Estates General was the assembly of the classes of the French people. There were separate assemblies for each class. -
Storming of the Bastille
The storming of the Bastille took place as a act of terror. It took place during the french revolution, and had a part in causing the reign of terror. -
The National Convention.
Its first act declared a republic and abolish the Monarchy. Given extreme power which led to the reign of terror. -
coup d'etat of Brumaire
The Coup of 18 brought Napoleon into power as the first consul. It overthrew the directory and ended the French Revolution. -
The congress of Vienna
The Congress of Vienna was a meeting of European ambassadors. It was called to create balance between European states. -

Ended the first opium war. Granted rights to Britain, as china had done to other states.
