Nat "King" Cole
Nat King Cole was one of the first Blues and Jazz musicians. He produced his first #1 hit called, "Straighten Up and Fly Right" in 1943. -
BB King
Commonly known at the "King of the Blues", he began recording with RPM records. At 85 he continues to amaze fans and inspire other musicians. -
Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley wooed millions of fans and influence just as many. His biggest hits are, "Hound Dog", and, "Heartbreak Hotel." -
Little Richard
Played a key role in the transition from Rhythm and Blues to Rock and Roll. In 1955 he released his hit, "Tutti Frutti" -
Roy Orbison
A very influencial singer/songwriter. Between 1960 and 1964 he had 22 songs top the charts, including, "Only the lonely", and, "Oh, Pretty Woman." -
The Beatles
The Beatles were one of the first groups to really take the world by storm. Coming from England to the United States they produced countless albums and hundreds of songs. -
The Beach Boys
One of the original, "Boy", bands, the Beach Boys debuted in 1961. They were the precursors to the 90's boy bands like N*Sync and the Backstreet Boys. -
Aretha Frankline
Known as the Queen of Soul, she signed a contract with Atlantic Records in 1966. By far her biggest hit is, "RESPECT." -
Jimi Hendrix
In his lifetime, he revolutionized music. Playing his left handed guitar, he intensified the use of guitars and is still idolized. He headlined at Woodstock. -
Led Zepplin
Known first as the New Yardbirds, Led Zepplin is a world reknown band who set the foundation of the rock and roll world. Their top songs are, "Stairway to Heaven", and, "Whole Lotta Love." -
Michael Jackson
Known around the world as the King of Pop. Michael Jackson started his career at the age of 10 with Jackson 5. Which consisted of him and his brothers. He influenced the world with his solo work and he became an icon in his older years creating legacies like the Thriller album. -
AC/DC
Formed in 1973 by Angus Young, they classified themselves simply as Rock and Roll. One of histories biggest legends of Rock. -
Pink Floyd
Founded in the 1960's, their most well known album, "Dark Side of the Moon" came out in 1973. "Wish you were here", debuted in 1975. -
Bon Jovi
Formed in 1983, Bon Jovi is a modernized version of a hair band. -
No Doubt
Formed in 1989. The singer was Gwen Stefani. They are a pop and rock group. -
R Kelly
Robert Sylvester Kelly is very popular in the R&B genre. -
Backstreet Boys
The Backstreet Boys are the epitome of a Boy Band. They were the original Justin Bieber. -
Britney Spears
Her career started around 2000. She like the others became quickly idolized. She was a pop queen for at least a decade. -
Skrillex
Sonny John Moore known as Skrillex, does dubstep. Which is a modified techno style. -

Music today is extremely diverse. We still have Blues and Jazz but they are no longer that popular. Mostly Pop and Rock are the biggest genrea.
