was a group of women who believed that alcohol was bad for us and the people around us so they went on a strike to prohibit alcohol after they went on strike an admentment was passed saying that alcohol is not allowed for sale. -
National child labor comitte
This a program started to give any child have the right to learn and have an education while working at a young age and giving them certain rights in order for the child or children to be safe in the working environment. They passed this law because they did not believe it was fair for little age kids to be working at factories and getting hurt. -
meat expection act
Meat Inspection Act and Pure Food and Drug Act passed. Manufacture, sale, transportation of adulterated, misbranded or harmful foods is illegal. In order for companies to stay they had to go under sanitary conditions. and cutting the meat the companies made in a certain way. So in order to not have illnesses go around people went and searched the whole company for bad food distribution. -
16th Amendment Adopted
The 16th amendment stated that congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes on incomes. It allowed the government to collect taxes from peoples income. They passed this law because the believed that the rich was strong. -
Federal trade comission act
This law was passed to make sure that no one does an illegal trade with other countries and also was passed to make sure that there wasnt unfair competition going on. also to have people check up on bunisses for unfair behavior. -
Womens right to vote
passed by congress in on june 4,1919 the 19th admentment gave the women the right to vote. It took along time before the women got the right to vote because the women had protested against the government and didnt get alot of attention from the government instead they got treated badly by everyone and the women didnt get alot of supporters until they formed the international woman suffrage alliance thats when they got supporters and started to get better at spreading their beliefs around town.
