Germany and Austria-Hungary joined with Italy to create the Triple Alliance. A triple alliance is a union or association between three countries or powers.

Creation of the Triple Entente

Great Britain was worried because the German army was getting stronger. So, they made an entente or alliance with France and Russia to ensure they would not fight against them.
