Invention
Hans Lippershay invented the first ever telescope. -
Galileo
Galileo made a telescope that could see further than anything else that had been created. With this, Galileo found the planet Jupiter. -
Issac Newton reflecting telescope
Issac created a telescope that had a clearer mirror and also got rid of any distortion of light. -
150ft telescope
Johannas Hevelius devolped a 150 refracted foot long telescope. It hung by ropes and poles and it moved every time wind went against it. -
William Hershel
William Hershel discovered the planet Uranus with a small hand-made reflecting telescope. 8 years later he supported a creatioj of a 40 foot long telescope. That ended up being anticlimatic. -
Mount Wilson
An observatory was put on top of mount wilson to get clearer images of space without disrupting from pollution. -
Edwin Hubble
Edwin Hubble used the observatory to see that there is red shifted light from other galaxies. This was major evidence that helps support the big bang. -
Penzius and Wilson
Penzius and Wilson made a telescope that measures radio and microwaves. This is when they found cosmic background radiation which is the first physical piece of evidence of the big bang. -
Hubble space telescope
The hubble space telescope was sent into space to see things we have not seen yet. It did just that. -
Kepler telescope
The Kepler telescope was send into space to see if there are any other habitable planets like Earth in other galaxies.
