French Canadian Soldiers in WW1 (-1)

This was a difficult time for French-Canadian soldiers because they all felt loyalty to France or Canada and not Britain. For those who fought for Canada, many of the tools they needed were paired with English instructions which made it difficult to understand. Canada did not provide these soldiers with the proper materials for success.

    Enemy Allies (-1)

Ukrainians, Germans, Austrians, Hungarians, and Croatians were considered "enemy aliens" by fellow Canadians even though the majority of them were immigrants to Canada. A month before the war officially began, farmers started to advertise the dangers of the war referring to it as the "Angel of Death". On May 19, 1918, a hospital had an enemy air attack and many died because of it. The women working in the hospital weren't prepared nor trained to deal with an attack like this and were looked down on after the war for not doing anything about it.
