Declatory Act
All past taxes were repealed and the Declaratory Act took its place. This act determined that it had all rights to tax and make decisions on the colonies. -
Townshend Acts
Another law placed by parliament that taxed any and all imports. -
Boston Massacre
An act of defense against the rebelling colonists that resulted in 5 colonists dead. -

Samuel Adams revived this group of colonists to once again protest against British Rule -

Boston Tea Party
The Boston Sons of Liberty dressed as indians threw over 300 crates of tea into the boston harbor as an act of civil disobedience -
Coercive acts
The Coercive Acts were a series of laws to punish all settlers that disobeyed the British. One common law for the colonies was to have soldiers living among the colonists. -
1st Continental Congress
55 delegates gathered in Philadelphia to set up a political body that would represent the colonists and rebel against British control. -
Midnight Ride
Paul Rever and William Dawes rode out to Lexington and Concord carrying word from Joseph Warren that the redcoats were on the move. However, these 2 were captured and another rider, Samual Prescott, carried on for the word to Concord. -
Lexington and Concord
The redcoats fought against the minutemen of Lexington -
2nd Continental Congress
The 2nd Continental Congress met to decide whether to stay with Britain or secede, and how they should start governing the colonies. They also created the Continental Army with George Washington as the Commander. -
