  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was the first internal tax levied on the American colonist. The British government put it on the colonies. the put taxes on a paper documents in the American colonies. The colonist didn't like that and started a mob of violence to force stamp collectors to quit. 10 years later the colonist went against the British in a fight because of the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act was asymmetrical because only the colonist were fighting the British and they didn't really fight back.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was an argument between the British and the colonist. The British came prepared in uniform but not meaning to fight unless the colonist fire first. one the other hand the colonist weren't as prepared as the British and only had a few weapons and had the same orders like the British to not fire unless the other side fires first. No one really knows what happened because there are so many sides to the story and no one knows who fired to first gun. This fight was symmetrical.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was against taxation in the American colonies. Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty got onto three different ships and threw tea off of the ships and then left. They were told to only throw only tea overboard into the Boston harbor. The threw 342 chests of tea overboard into the Boston harbor. This was asymmetrical because it was only the colonist that did.
  • Lexington/Concord

    The Lexington and Concord started the American Revolutionary War. There was a bad relationship between the American colonist and the British for many years. The day before the battles the British marched over by Concord to seize an arms cache. The colonist were trying to follow the British. There was many battles after that in 1783. The colonist won their independence. This battle was symmetrical because they both fought each other.
  • Bunker (Breed’s) Hill

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was in Charlestown, Massachusetts of June 17, 1775. The British went closer to the colonist and the colonist fired one to two volleys then most stood their ground to face the British. There was a total of 383 soldiers/commanders were killed and 1,113 soldiers/commanders were wounded from both the British and the colonies. The Americans lost against the British. This battle was a symmetrical because they both fought each other.
  • Common Sense

    Thomas Paine published "Common Sense" in January of 1776. He published his "Common Sense" advocated independence for the American colonies from Britain and is considered one of the most influential pamphlets in American history. When Thomas wrote "Common Sense" most of the colonist considered themselves to be aggrieved Britons. Common sense was symmetrical because the British went after him for making it.
  • Declaration of Independence

    On July 4, 1776 there was conflict between bands of American colonist and British soldier began in April of 1775.The Americans were fighting for their own rights as a subjects of British crown. in the middle of June 1776 Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin and 5 other committee was tasked with drafting a formal statement of colonies' intentions. The Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence. This was symmetrical because they won independence for the US.
  • Battles of Trenton/Princeton

    General George Washington's army crossed Delaware December 25, 1776. the battle of Trenton on December 26, 17756 Washington defeated before withdrawing. A week later her he went back to Trenton to lure British forces south then made a daring night march to capture Princeton on January. The Americans won and theses battles were symmetrical because they both fought back.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The American army was positioned between Burgoyne's army and Albany. They came together in the south area of Saratoga and the Burgoyne's army was in pieces and broken up. The Americans won in October of 1777. Saratoga gave Frances the confidence in the American cause to enter the war as an American enemy. Later on the Americans owed a great deal to French aid in the form of financial and military assistance. This battle was a symmetrical because they both fought each other.

    December 19, 1777 George Washington, and 12,000 men and women got to Valley Forge. They didn't believed that they could win the war of independence from Britain. They planned an unexpected attack on the British and they won. It as asymmetrical because the colonist game to attack the British and they kinda gave up an ran away.

    The War in South/Charleston began May 29, and ended May 12, 1780. April 2, 1780 Americans suffer their worst defeat of the revolution. with the victory the British caught more than three thousand Patriots and great quantity of munitions and equipment and 250 people died because of it. South Carolina was a deeply divided state and the British let loose the full violence of the civil war on the population. These wars were symmetrical because they fought each other.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The battle was in Yorktown, Virginia. The battle of Yorktown is the most important battle of the Revolutionary War. October 17, 1781 the war ended the War for Independence. The The French fleet commanded by Francois for the Chesapeake Bay. Washington found out and had to get ready. September 28 Washington had completely encircled Cornwallis and Yorktown with combining forces of Continental and French troops. This battle was a symmetrical because they both fought each other.
