Convention of 1832
It was the first political gathering of colonists in Mexican Texas. There were about 56 delegates that met in San Felipe to draft a set of resolutions. -
Convention of 1833
Sam Houston attended the convention of 1833. Stephen F. Austin was chosen to deliver the resolutions and constitution to Mexico City. -
Arrest of Stephen F. Austin
The Mexican government found Stephen F. Austin's letter to the Texans and felt it was an act of treason. After Austin meeting with Santa Anna, he was arrested in his way home. -
The consultation
It served as the provisional government of Mexican Texas. Throughout Mexico, federalists began to oppose the increasingly centralist policies of the government.
