    The Darcys are a wealthy family moving in across the street. This upsets Zuri because she thinks that it's bringing change to the neighborhood. because of this, zuri creates a dislike towards the Darcys, particularly Darius.

    The story begins in Brooklyn, New York, where we are introduced to Zuri Benitez, a black teenager living in a less fortunate neighborhood.

    Zuri not liking Darius leads to clashes between them. Zuris is struggling with the change happening in her community, she feels like this is threatening her identity and home
  • Developing Relationships

    as the story goes on Zuri and Darius begin to get to know each other; their relationship begins to evolve into a little friendship, then eventually over time into a romantic relationship.
  • Climax

    Zuri and Darius are on the way home when they stop at a gas station leading to a very big moment in their relationship.
  • Resolution

    Zuri embraces her identity, her feelings toward how the neighborhood is evolving, and her feelings toward Darius. She learns how to navigate through change.
