Creation of PNR

Mar 4, 1929

Created by Plutarco Elias Calles in response to the national chaos. A new party was created which included many regional political leaders and it joined different political ideologies.

PRM

Mar 4, 1938

PNR changes it's name to PRM (Partido de la Revolución Mexicana) and reorganized the party to a mass-based system.

Oil Expropiation

Mar 18, 1938

Oil companies applied the article #27 from the Mexican Constitution. Enacted by Lázaro Cárdenas, the oil nationalization gave all the oil on mexican territory to mexican companies. This was a socialist/communist movement.

From PRM to PRI

Jan 1, 1946

During Adolfo Lopez Mateos presidency, the PRM changes to PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional). The old PRI (fair and just) disappeared, and corruption began to increase.

Women Rights

Oct 17, 1953

From the incentive of president Adolfo Ruiz Cortines the 34 article was reformed so the women were recognized the right to vote and be voted for charges of popular elections, and the right to join political parties and form part of their directive structures.

Tlatelolco

Oct 2, 1968

During Gustavo Diaz Ordáz's presidency, students protested and rebeled against policies on public education. The government responded with a mass murder in Plaza de las Tres Culturas.

Economic Crisis

After Salinas de Gortari's presidency, the country entered into a economic chaos because of the bad management of banks. President Cedillo said "why did you leave the economy on niddles?" and Salinas responded "why did you took them off?"

Vicente Fox

PRI era of 71 years ends with the victory of Vicente Fox (PAN). People had realized that the PRI party wasn't a good option to rise up the country.

PRI buying votes

PRI gave Cards of Soriana with 1000 pesos in the Estado de Mexico if you vote for Enrique Peña Nieto, which demonstrated a lot of corruption in the party. Eventough it was a corrupt party, they won the elections.

Enrique Peña Nieto is elected as President of México, representing and bringing back the PRI party. This didn't completely rised México, on the other hand, it got worse. Corruption, deals with narcotraficantes, economy debt and decay.

Privatization of Oil

Enrique Peña Nieto announced an initiative for secondary loss about modifying the articles #25, #27 and #28. This would open the private market for foreign investors. Oil didn't belong anymore to México.

Ayotzinapa

43 students disappeared and killed, covered by the PRI government of Guerrero. They were fighting for fair education. México reacted in an agressive way because it was a human rights violation.
