    Thomas Jefferson- Declaration of Independence
    Thomas Jefferson is givent he credit of being the author of the Declaration of Independence. It was written to say that the original 13 colonies, that were still at war with Britian, regarded themselves as independent states and weren't part of the British Empire. Jefferson was originally given the task of drafting the first verison of the Declaration of Indepence, which Congress later edited to make the final draft.

    James Madison- Bill of Rights
    The Bill of Rights is the name given to the first 10 amendments in the US Constitution. The amendments were introduced by James Madison to the United States Congress in the form of legislative articles. They were then adopted by the House of Representatives on August 21, 1789. Today they guarantee personal freedoms, limit the government's power, and reserve some powers for to the states and to the public.

    Abraham Lincoln- Gettysburg Address
    The Gettysburg Address was a speech given by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. Just 4 months after the Union defeated the Confederacy at the Battle of Gettysburg. The speech itself is just over 2 mintues, and essentially just addresses the principles of human equality that were originally written in the Declaration of Independence. Lincoln was basically stating that the fighting betweent he Union and the Confederacy would bring forth equality and make Democracy their form of Government.

    Woodrow Wilson gave a speech called the "14 points" to Congress. In his speech were ideas to prevent another global war, and make sure that we never lose as many lives as we did. However while the people of Europe were inviting of Wilson's ideas, his main Allied colleagues were a bit skeptical.

    Harry S. Truman- Atomic Bombs
    Truman was the 33rd President of the United States. Truman is famous for making what is consider a controversial decesion to drop the Atomic bombs against Japain in 1945. He was also crucial in the development of the Marshall Plan, which essentially states a plan to rebuild the country of Europe.

    John F. Kennedy- Bay of Pigs
    Bay of Pigs Invasion In April of 1962 JFK ordered an invasion on the island of Cuba. His intent was to invade Cuba and flush out their communist dictator Castro. The plan that is now dubbed the "Bay of Pigs Invasion" was led by the CIA with help from the US military. However the mission was a complete failure and the United States lost many lives. Eventually, Kennedy was forced to negotiate for the release of the survivors.
  • Richard Nixon- Watergate

    The Watergate scandal was because of a break in at the DNC at the Watergate complex in Washington, D.C. Nixon attempted to cover up that he was involved, but there was substantial evidence agains the president. There were particular tapes that he had which showed he attempted to cover this up. He eventually had to hand the tapes over according to the supreme court, and Nixon eventually resigned from the Presidency.

    Jimmy Carter served as the 33rd President of the United States. During his Presidency he created 2 new cabinet level departments: The Deparment of Education and The Department of Energy. The ED gives us reguations and policies along with funding for our schools. While the DOE is responsible for the countries Nuclear weapons.

    Regan was the 33rd president of the USA, and developed what he called "Reganomics." Which is essentially his way stimulate the economy through Tax cuts. He also escalated the Cold War by ordering a massive buildup of US soldiers and started new policies toward the Soviet Union

    The No Child Left Behind legislation was introduced by President George W. Bush on January 23, 2001. The act requires all government run schools that receive federal funding to give out a state wide standardized test to all their students. This means that all the students have to take the same test under the same conditions.

Snyder has orchestrated what's considered the greatest turnaround of a college football program ever. Along the way Synder accumulated a 170-84-1(.669) career record along with numerous honors and awards.
