    In 1832, Georgia, the cherokee people, and Samuel Worcester established the case Worcester v. Georgia. Worcester, a missionary, that lived with the Cherokee indians and was sent to prison under Jackson’s law; however, the law didn’t apply to the cherokee because they were under the federal government.
