Month 1

Month 2
Baby:
-Organs, nails, hair, / the body starts forming
- Facial features are starting to emerge
-embryo's entire body is beginning to uncurl a bit
Mother:
-Mood swings
- Sickness
-Gained some pounds but not enough to show
Tips:
-Get enough sleep
-Talk to your partner about all of this
-Take time to relax -
Month 3
Baby:
-Elbows, knees, and other limb joints are distinguishable
-Baby's tail has disappeared by now
-two hands can almost touch each other
Mother:
-frequent urination
-little baby-belly pooch
-blurry vision
Tips:
-Go get your first ultrasound done
-Get new bras, and decide if you're going to breast feed
-Take to your job about maternity leave -
Month 4
Baby:
-External sexual organs are beginning to emerge now
-eyes have now moved from the sides to the center of the face
-starts kicking
Mother:
-energy burst and appetite increase
-Skin darkening
-gaining about a pound a week
Tips:
-Don't forget to keep up with your regular dental checkups
- Light-to-moderate exercise
-be careful about what type of fish you eat -
Month 5
Baby:
-fingerprints begin to appear
-fetal heartbeat is growing stronger
- brain begins to grow very quickly
Mother:
-sharp pains in your hip, abdomen or groin
-uterus grows
- form of thicker hair and stronger nails, do to hormones
Tips:
-drink plenty of fluids
-Pay attention when you pee
-take time to unwind, and sleep -
Month 6
Baby:
-your baby can hear
- baby's permanent, "grown-up" teeth are developing in the high inside its gums
-spine is getting stronger and more supple.
Mother:
-your libido may shink
-gained about 15 lbs maybe more
- feel more tired
Tips:
-take supplement or vitamins
-experiment with a few natural sleep remedies if are having hard time getting to sleep
-five or six smaller meals instead of three large ones -
Month 7
Baby:
-flexible skull bones are being pushed outward
- three pounds now and measure up to 17 inches in length
-Fetal breathing movements
Mother:
-shortness of breath
- leaky breasts
-stretch mark or itchy skin
Tips:
-Drinks lots of water
-Take workout to the pool
-be prepare for the unexpected -
Month 8
Baby:
-fetal movements slow down
-resting on your uterus instead
-beginning to develop their own immune system
Mother:
-Braxton Hicks contractions
-weight gain slows down
-start of your mucus plug dropping
Tips:
-learn signs of early labor
-start staying home from work -
Month 9
Baby:
-build up fat
-baby is considered full term
Mother:
-milk glands are expanding
-belly feel a bit lighter
-cervix is engorged with blood and feels sensitive
Tips:
-Don't over do yourself
-Decide if you want an epidural or not -
Delivery
Baby:
-umbilical cord is cut
-starts breathing by itself
Mother:
-placenta and the amniotic sac are still in the uterus after the delivery
-much pain, can have a epidural
-cervix dilation
Tips:
-know its ok that it don't go as planned
- remember your goal is a healthy baby no matter what
- have support there for you
