  • Period: to

    First Trimester Weeks 1-2

    The mother is not actually pregnant during these weeks. The OB-gyn counts pregnancy as 40 weeks from the start of the last menstrual cycle.
  • Weeks 3-4

    The mother will miss her period, start cramping, and the pregnancy test will be able to measure HCG horomone levels.
  • Weeks 5-6

    The mothers breasts become tender and enlarged. experience mood swings and frequent urination from the pressure. There is also morning sickness and heartburn. The mothers heart rate will increase due to increased cardiac volume.
  • Weeks 7-8

    The mother will experience the same symptoms from weeks 5-6
  • Week 10

    Same symptoms as weeks 5-8. The mother will start getting pregnancy acne and will start to gain a little weight. (2-4 pounds) The heartbeat is then heard through the ultra sound.
  • Week 11

    The same symptoms from week 10.
  • Week 12

    Same symptoms as weeks 10-11.
  • Second Trimester Weeks 13-14

    The morning sickness disappears and appetite increases. Reduce fatigue and dark spots on skin as well.
  • Weeks 15-16

    Same symptoms as weeks 13-14.
  • Weeks 17-18

    She will experience back aches and swelling in the hands and feet. Stretch marks will start to appear. The mother might start to begin to feel the baby moving.
  • Weeks 19-20

    Same as weeks 17-18
  • Weeks 21-22

    Start to feel Hip, groin, and abdomen pain. shortness of breath and fast growing hair and nails.
  • Weeks 23-24

    The Mother will start to feel fetal movement such as strong kicks that others may even be able to feel. Carpet tunnel syndrome may start to flair. Weight gain will increase (10-12 pounds)
  • Third Trimester Weeks 28-29

    Increased abdomen may affect posture. Breasts may start to leak and growing stretch marks will get worse.
  • Weeks 31-32

    Backaches and fatigue will start to appear. leg cramps and shotness of breath will also get worse. Start to feel Braxton-Hicks contractions. Weight gain is between 18-20 pounds.
  • Week 34

    The symptoms are the same as weeks 31-32
  • Weeks 36-37

    Still feeling the stretching and movement of the baby. Decreased pressure on the lungs and organs. Trouble with insomnia. Total weight gain is 25-35 pounds.
