Proclamation of 1763
King George declares no colonist can move past the mountains, forcing those already past to move back. -
French and Indian War ends
The war between France and England ends, England wins, but with massive debt. -
Stamp Act
A tax requiring colonists to pay tax per sheet of paper for all paper products. -
Quatering act of 1765
Forces colonists to house,bed, and supply soldiers of England. -
Townshed Acts
A tax was called for most goods imported from England such as, glass, tea, paper, oil, and paint. -
Boston Massacre
The folk of Boston formed a mob around soldiers edging them on causing the death of several colonists. -
Tea Act
All but one tax was abolished from the Townshed acts, the tax on tea. This forced colonists to buy tea from the EITC. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonists dressed as Native Americans dumped tea into Boston harbor to protest the Tea Act. -
Intolerable Acts
A series of laws causing the colonists to prepare for war. These removed power from local governments and so fourth. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
Fighting begins when British troops set out to find a weapons cache resulting in milita driving back the British and wining the first battle of the Revolution.
