Indian Independence
On August 15, 1947, the Indian Independence Bill took effect, inaugurating a period of religious turmoil in India and Pakistan that would result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands, including Gandhi, who was assassinated by a Hindu fanatic in January 1948 during a prayer vigil to an area of Muslim-Hindu violence. -
Creation of Israel
David Ben-Gurion head of the Jewish agency announced the creation of Israel. On the same day Pres. truman reconized the new state. -
Berlin Air Lift
The Soviets blockaded rail,road and water access to allied-controlled areas of berlin. The U.S. and U.K. responded by airlifting fuel and food to berlin from allied airbases in western Germany. -
Launch of Sputnik
The launch of sputnik was the launch to start the U.S.-U.S.S.R. space race. the satilite was the size of a beach ball and was launched on a ICBM missile. -
Bay of pigs invasion
When cuban got overthrown by Fidel Castro the U.S. trained cuban citizens that fled when Fidel came into power and were planning of invading cuba to overthrow Castro the attack did not go as planned and all soliders were caught and held hostage. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
U.S. spy plane were flying over cuba and secretly photographed nuclear missile launch sites and J.F.K. was not happy and set of a navel blockade around cuba to stop Soviets from getting to cuba. this eventually excalated almost to nuclear war betwwen the Soviets and the USA. finally a KGB officer in the states suggested that the US tak their nucler bombs out of turkey if the soviets do the same. They both agreed and the problem got solved -

Ayatollah Khomeini became the supreme religious leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979, following many years of resistance to Shah Pahlavi. -
Assassination Of Egyptian President Sadat
Anwar Sadat, the President of Egypt, was assassinated during the annual victory parade held in Cairo to celebrate Operation Badr. The assassination had been obtained from Omar Abdel-Rahman. -

Students led Protest for economic reform, inflation, pilitical corroption. This did not go well with the goverment and they sent tropps of stop the protests, many people were harmed by the troops because they were blocking the troops from getting to Tianenmen Square. -
Fall of the Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall stood until November 9, 1989, when the head of the East German Communist Party announced that citizens of the GDR could cross the border whenever they pleased. this was very exciting for all. every german was celebrating. throughout the night people were crossing the boarder and others were getting hammers and chipping away at the wall.
