    The Marshall Plan was created around April in 1948 as the European Recovery Program. It was created to help Europe get back on their feet after the devastation.

    NATO or North Atlantic Treaty Organization was an alliance between ten European Nations, the United States and Canada to deter the Soviet Union Expansion in Europe. It was signed in April of 1949.

    The Korean War was a time when Japan had taken over Korea. It was between the Republic of Korea and the Democracy's Republic of Korea. There was a great political division between North and South Korea.

    Sputnik was the first artificial satellite that the Soviet Union launched into orbit and it lead to the American Sputnik Crisis and triggered the Space Race.

    A larger part of the Cold War this event was triggered by the launching of the Sputnik Satellite. It lead to new political, military, technological, and scientific developments. It was a competition between the U.S. and the Soviet Union to see who would launch into space first.

    This race was a competion between the U.S. and the Soviet Union in a nuclear warfare. It opened room for new weapon improvements on each side of the war such as the Atomic Bomb.

    As a result of the Cuban Revolution, this was an invasion on Cuba from the U.S. It took place over three days. The U.S. was defeated against Cuba under the power Fidel Castro.

    Cuban Missile Crisis

    This was a 13-day confrontation between the Soviet Union and Cuba on one side and the U.S. on the other. It turned into a nuclear conflict and the U.S. would not tolerate the attack of nuclear weapons. The U.S. wanted to plan an attack on Cuba but instead created a blockade. The end of the Cuban Missile Crisis resulted in the removal of nuclear weapons from Cuba as well as the United States removal of nuclear weapons from Turkey and Italy.
