  • The Yalta Peace Conference

    It took place in Russia. It was a meeting to discuss what will happpen now that the war was over. It ended the same month and year, on the 11.
  • Postdam Conference

    The three leaders, the U.S President, the British Prime Minister, and Stalin, met again in Postdam, Germany to continue their disscusion from Yalta. They were going to talk about Europes boarders.
  • The Berlin Blockage

    One of the first events in the Cold war. It was a plan from Russia, to stop the U.S, Great Britian, and France, to travel through parts of Berlin. It ended on May 12, 1949
  • THe Berlin Airlift

    The Berlin Airlift was a way for supplies to still be given to Western-Berlin. The U>S started airlifting supplies accross the blockades until they were lifted in 1949.
  • U.S. Military Desegregated

    Pres ident Trumann, passed an executive order, allowing all poeple no matter the race to be equal in the war. There where many problems at first but after a year or two it settled down.
  • Soviet Union test First Atomic Bomb

    It scared the United States because they were not expecting nuclear weapons to pass that soon This causes them reconsider their nuclear postion in the world.
  • Communist Revolution in China

    The creation of the (PRC) people's republic, started a war between the communist and nationalost party. It created a huge change in Governemnt.
  • Korean War

    It was a fight between North Korea and South Korea. American officials got concerned andjoined the war for the South to help fight against communism.
  • McCarthy Hearings Begin

    McCarthy manipulated media. He charged the United States Army with being 'soft' on communism.
  • Brwon v. voard of education

    It declared speretae schooling facilities unequal. It created more equal places in teh U.S.
  • Emmet Til Murder

    Emmet Till, reportadly got caught flirting with a cashier. He was then beat and shot.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    In Alabama blacks had to sit at the back of the bus. When a girl named rosa Parks would not move for a white man, she was arrested.
  • Little Rock Central High School Crisis

    There were troops hired to keep African American students from enroling. The President wanted to be equal, but did not want any bloodshed to occur.
