Samuel De Champlain
In 1605, the king ordered that he and other people go to Port Royal to settle a colony, but they failed to do so. He is the founder of Quebec in 1608. He first came into contact with Algonquins, and allies with them to trade for fur, only to become enemies to the Iroquois. -

Samuel Champlain founded Quebec, and because of that had the opportunity to start trading fur. -

The company of 100 Associates was started in 1627, and their main goal was to help colonize, until eventually moving more into the fur trade business. -

After founding Quebec, Samuel Champlain founded Trois-Rivieres, which helped even more in the fur trade. -

The Royal Proclamation was made in 1763, after the British won the Seven Year war. -

The Thirteen Colonies declared independence from the British Colonies in the year 1776, creating the United States. -
Immigration of the Loyalists
The immigration of the Loyalists occurred between 1783 to 1800, when America declared its independence. However, the Loyalists, who were people that were still loyal to Great Britain, decided to stay in British Colonies or go back to England. -
Constitutional Act
Established in 1791, this act divided the province of Quebec into two distinct colonies (Upper Canada, Lower Canada). -
Act of Union
The Act of Union, 1840, united the two colonies (Upper and Lower Canada) creating the Province of Canada. -
Great Famine (Ireland)
The Great Famine, was from 1845 to 1852, which was when a disease called Potato Blight ruined the crops, starting a mass starvation in Ireland, causing many Irish to emigrate elsewhere. -

The Provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Ontario and Nova Scotia join together to create the Dominion of Canada.
