Montag is a fireman who burns books for a living. In Montag’s world, firemen start fires instead of putting them out. This socitey is completely different from todays as to how they entertain themselves for example they like to drive fast and watch an exsesive amount of tv and listen to the radio . -
Montag meets Clarrise
Montag meets a seventeen year old girl named Clarisse McClellan, who impacts his life in many ways and opens his eyes to the emptiness of his life with her innocently, her unusual love of people and nature. -
mildred attempts suicide
his wife, Mildred, attempts suicide by swallowing a bottle of sleeping pills. It is not said as to why she attempts suicide but assuming how her life is going through out the book she was unhappy and deppressed with her life throught the book. -
Woman is bured alive with books
when he responds to an alarm that an old woman has a stash of hidden books, the woman shocks him by choosing to be burned alive along with her books because the knowled to her is more important than her own life a=which makes montag wonder what is in the books -
Clarisse died
he hears that Clarisse has been killed by a speeding car. -
beattys visit
When Montag fails to show up for work, his fire chief, Beatty,goes to his house. Beatty explains that it’s normal for a fireman to go through a phase of wondering what books have to offer and lets montag keep the books for 24 hours and then return them and if not retured then he will have to come burn them -
mildred and montag are not in love
Montag is fasanated by the thought of the reading all those books and he looks to his wife for help and support, but she prefers television then her husband’s company -
He visits faber
He visits Faber, who tells him that the value of books lies in the detailed awareness of life that they contain. Faber says that Montag needs not only books but also the leisure to read them and the freedom to act upon their ideas. Faber agrees to help him and try to change socicity into re thinking the ideas of books -
Mildreads friends
Montag goes home, and soon two of Mildreds friends come to watch television. Montag starts reading and poem because he was unhappy with some of her friends there and mildred tries to explain that it was only an inslut towords the books but the 2 friends were extremely disturbed by the poem and left to file a complaint about Montag. -
Mildred betrayed him
Montag goes back the fire station to return one of the books Suddenly, the alarm sounds and then finds out that the alarm is at Montag’s own house. Mildred gets into a cab with her suitcase, and Montag realizes that his own wife has betrayed him. -

Montag goes to Faber’s house, where he learns that a new Hound has been put on his trail, along with several helicopters and a television crew. -

Montag’s role is to memorize the Book of Ecclesiastes. Enemy jets appear in the sky and completely obliterate the city with bombs. Montag and his new friends move on to search for survivors and rebuild civilization.
