    THE STEELERS ARE FOUNDED
    The Steelers were founded on July 8, 1933, by Arthur Joseph Rooney. Originally named the Pittsburgh Pirates, they were a member of the Eastern Division of the 10-team NFL.

The line was the backbone of the Steelers dynasty,Dwight White, Ernie Holmes, Joe Greene and L.C. Greenwood made up the greatest defensive line of the Super Bowl era.

    THE ROONEY FAMILY 1933-PRESENT
    The Rooneys have owned and operated the Pittsburgh Steelers since 1933 Art Rooney Sr. was the founding owner from 1933 until his death in 1988. Art’s eldest son, Dan, took in 1969, and by the early 1970s the Steelers began to take shape as a pro football dynasty. .Art Rooney II has guided Pittsburgh to three conference titles and two world championships.

    Chuck Noll coached from 1969-1991. He led the Steelers to four Super Bowl championships in a six-year span and 15 winning seasons, nine division championships, and 12 playoff appearances Bill Cower 1992-2006In In his 15 seasons the Steelers won eight division titles, made the playoffs 10 times and participated in 21 playoff games and two Super Bowls. Mike Tomlin 2007- Two Superbowls with one win and in 2009 over the Arizona Cardinals. Six AFC North titles,and eight playoff games.
