    The Pittsburgh Steelers were a losing team in their early days. During the 1969 NFL Draft, the Steelers drafted "Mean Joe Greene". Joe Greene became a major part of the Steelers defense that dominated the NFL in 1970. Joe Greene was a part of the defense that led the Steelers to four Super Bowl wins in that decade.

    The "Immaculate Reception"
    During the 1972 playoffs, the Steelers had 4th and 10 with only 22 seconds remaining. Terry Bradshaw threw a pass meant for his running back, John "Frenchy" Fuqua. The pass bounced off of a Raiders player. Rookie Franco Harris miraculously caught the pass for the Steelers. He ran for a touchdown, giving the Steelers a 12-7 win. This is one of the most memorable moments in Steelers history because it was a playoff game and great catch. Harris made a name for himself during this game.
  • Super Bowl IX Victory

    Super Bowl IX Victory
    The Steelers suffered many losing seasons throughout their start. They had never made it to a Super Bowl. This changed when head coach Chuck Roll was hired in 1969. The Steelers drafted NFL legends like Joe Greene, Terry Bradshaw, Jack Ham, and more. Noll led the team to Super Bowl IX in 1975 with his rebuild. The Steelers beat the Minnesota Vikings. In this game they set records like allowing only 9 first downs, 119 yards of offense, and 17 rushing yards. This was a turning point for the team.
  • Super Bowl X

    Super Bowl X
    The Steelers made back-to-back super bowl appearances. They faced off against the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl X. The Steelers defense wasn't as good as expected. In the 4th quarter, the score was 10-7 Dallas. The Steelers then took lead with a field goal. QB Terry Bradshaw hit Lynn Swann for a 64-yard touchdown pass. Dallas answered by scoring a touchdown, making the score 21-17. However, the Steelers defense prevailed and didn't let Dallas score again. This gave them their second ring.
  • Super Bowl XIII Victory

    Super Bowl XIII Victory
    A few years after their previous ring, the Steelers appeared in the Super Bowl once again. Terry Bradshaw led the Steelers to their third Super Bowl victory, throwing four touchdown passes for a final score of 35-31 over the Dallas Cowboys. They are the first team to achieve three Super Bowl wins. This win was significant because Bradshaw was now a force that could not be stopped. The Steelers and the Cowboys had also faced off in the Championship twice now.
  • Super Bowl XIV Victory

    Super Bowl XIV Victory
    The Steelers, once again, are in the Super Bowl. This time against the L.A. Rams. They were projected to win big. Going into the 4th quarter however, they found themselves losing 19-17. The Steelers finally snapped back into it when Terry Bradshaw completed a 73-yard touchdown pass to John Stallworth. The Steel curtain defense would dominate the Rams for the rest of the game. The Steelers would score one more late touchdown. They won their fourth Super Bowl 31-19. Terry Bradshaw is named MVP.
  • Art Rooney Passes Away

    Art Rooney Passes Away
    Arthur Joseph Rooney (Art Rooney), the owner of the Steelers, passes away in 1988. Rooney had been the only owner of the Steelers since its beginning in 1933. Rooney's son, Dan Rooney, takes over the team. This represented a new era for the Steelers through their ownership.
  • Roethlisberger's debut

    Roethlisberger's debut
    The Steelers quarterback had not been doing great and on top of that he just got an elbow injury. The Steelers decided to start Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers have one of their best years ever and they were undefeated. A game arose that they had to win to go on to the Super Bowl and they unfortunately lost. Although they lost, "Big" Ben Roethlisberger was looking good and began a new era of Steelers football. Roethlisberger is a Steelers legend and played for an amazing 18 seasons.
  • Super Bowl XL

    Super Bowl XL
    The Steelers once again made it back to the Super Bowl. This time the Steelers faced the Seattle Seahawks. With a good passing game, running back, and defense Pittsburgh looked good. The score was 7-3 in the 3rd quarter when Steelers running back broke free for a 75 yard touchdown run. Seattle Struck right back. They scored, making the score 14-10 with Pittsburgh on top. The Steelers scored once more, solidifying their win, giving them five rings. This tied them for the most wins at the time.

    Ben Roethlisberger's Super Bowl Pass to Santonio Holmes
    Another one of the most memorable games for the Steelers was Super Bowl XLIII. This game was not only memorable because it was a Super Bowl. In the fourth quarter, the Steelers were trailing the Arizona Cardinals with 2 minutes left. Roethlisberger threw a 6 yard pass out of a scramble to Santonio Holmes. Holmes was in the back of the end zone and extended his arms, kept his feet in bounds, and scored. This play won the game for the Steelers, giving them the most Super Bowl wins at the time.
