    Mistreated by his sister, Pip is wavering for love and takes strong liking to a convict who threatens to kill him should Pip not bring him food. Pip quickly forms a strong bond with the convict and goes out of his way to bring the supplies to the man.

    Pip realizes that he is torn between emotions. His heart wants Biddy, but his brain wants Estella. Pip knows that he should feel satisfied with his life and with Joe, but he cannot help but feel ashamed about his social standings.
  • Jaggers Reveals Pip's Great Expectations

    As Pip is suddenly granted a trip to London to become a gentleman, he realizes that this is a life-long decision that will affect him forever. Pip's choice will signal a turning point. He will either come to appreciate Joe, or he will forever be caught up in a craze to advance through the ladder of social class. Pip decides to become a gentleman.

    When Pip realizes that Magwithch is his benefactor, he feels haveily indebted to Magwitch. He wants to protect Magwitch now that he is on the run, but at the same time Pip is devastated because he realizes that Ms. Havisham had no intention of getting Estella engaged to Pip.
  • Ms. Havisham Apologizes

    Pip is moved with Ms. Havisham's apology and learns to forgive and forget. Although she has left scars in his heart, Pip kindly forgives Ms. Havisham for her wrongdoings because she has finally realized that what she did was wrong. Pip becomes a stronger person and learns to mend the past.
  • Estella Refuses to Acknowledge Pip

    While in Ms. Havisham's house, Pip professes his love for Estella, yet Estella refuses to acknowledge Pip's love. She pretends to never have sensed Pip's feelings for her and treats Pip condescendingly. She has become a cold individual as it is evident that Ms. Havisham's cruel teachings have been stuck to her.
  • Orlick Anonymously Calls for Pip

    When taken hostasge by Orlick, Pip's renewed feelings for Joe and Biddy come back to haunt him. While social class had once blinded him from his impertinance, it is social class again that opened his eyes to his cruelty towards his only family. While on the brink of death, Pip wants to go back to Joe and Biddy and seek their forgiveness.
  • Pip Starts Again

    Pip comes back home to Joe and Biddy and congradulate them on their wedding and even meet their child who is also named Pip. Pip begins to appreciate the simple happiness of life, and he accepts the marriage, although inside, he wanted to get married to Biddy.

    My first day of preschool served as a threshold of independence. I could no longer rely on my mom and dad for help and had to look for answers by herself. Initially things were hard for me, but eventually I leared to do things by myself.
  • Move to California from Chicago

    My family decided to move to Califonia after living in Chicago for three years. I did not want to leave my friends behind, but I soon realized that I would have to meet new people in my new home and learn to adjust to the new environment.
  • Won my first Ice Skating Competition

    Winning my first competition, gave me confidence in not only my ice skating, but also myself. I was no longer self concious about myself and felt proud. This motivated me to keep on practicing and working hard until I had accomplished what I wanted.
  • Brother Riku was Born

    When my brother was born, I was given additional responsibilities in the family. I had been an only child for eight years, and all of a sudden I had to learn how to share my parents, family, and home. It was quite an experience at first, but I soon came to appreciate the happiness that my brother brought into my life.
  • Met my Best Friend Siya

    Siya and I met one day at the park and while walking home we realized that we were next door neighbors without even knowing it. Through the course of the next few years, our families became family friends and we became like sisters.
  • Accepted into Oxford

    Going to Oxford meant becoming more responsible, organized, and disciplined. I could no longer procrastinate on homework as much, and I had to become seroius about my academics. Attending Oxford has helped me take a step closer to the real world.
  • Went to India

    My trip to India taught me more about my culture and my family. I learned a lot about the Indian customs, religion, and holidays on my trip, and I was able to spend a lot more time with my extended family.
