    Phoenix Junior College opens its doors
  • North Central Association

    Phoenix Junior College was formally recognized as a member of the the North Central Association.
  • Bond Approval

    A $625,000 bond was approved for new building construcion and improvements to existing buildings.
  • College Relocates

    PJC relocates to current location at 15th Ave. and Thomas
  • Pilot Training Recognition

    PJC recognized by Civil Aeronautics Administrations for having the best civilian pilot training ground school in the nation.
  • Gym Converted to Barracks

    The Gym was converted to military barracks.
  • African American Student Body President

    Student Body President Eldridge Gonaway, an African Amercian, was elected.
  • Fine Arts Center Opens

  • Dr. Mildred Bulpitt

    Dr. Bulpitt was one of the first women to hold a position at this level.
  • Maricopa Junior College District Established

  • Library Complete

    The Library Building was complete; 33,000 square feet and three levels.
  • College Expands

  • Interpreter Preparation Program Established

    This program is the only one of its kind in the county.
  • Re-accredited by HLC/NCA

  • Alumni Association Established

  • Dr. Myrna Harrison

    First woman President of Phoenix College.

  • Nursing Facility Grand Opening Announced

    It was announced that the Grand Opening of the new nursing facility would be in the Spring of 2014.
  • Veterans' Student Center Opens

  • Designated a Military Friendly School

    G.I. Jobs Magazine designated Phoenix College as a Military Friendly School.
  • Energy Conservation Efforts

    Phoenix College Operations Office received a monetary award from APS for the college's energy saving efforts through participation in the APS Peak Solutions Participating Facilities Program.
