    Phoenix College opened
    On Sep. 13, 1920 Phoenix Junior College opened its doors. It was told that a circus came to Phoenix in 1920. A bear cub was born and was given to Phoenix Junior College. Hence, the college mascot is "The Bears" nowadays.

    Phoenix Junior College was awarded the formal recognition to membership in the North Central Association. It was hailed as a big step for the school's scholastic reputation.

    The new campus, located at Thomas and 15th Avenue, was built in 1939. This campus is now where PC stands strong.

    Joining the Maricopa Community College District
    Phoenix College was voted to transfer to the jurisdiction of the Maricopa Community College District Governing Board. Glendale and Mesa campuses are set p as extensions of Phoenix College.

    Phoenix College was awarded re-accreditation by the HLC/NCA, strengthening the college's scholastic standing.

    The MyPC Mobile Application for Students was selected as the district-wide winner of the Innovation of the Year Award. From the app, students can find information such as their class schedule, required textbooks, and use GPS to guide them to each of their classes.
