Shep Royal, the president of a textile mill, breaks off from the frankford athletic association and establishes the frankford yellow jackets. -
1921
The yellow jackets lose the city championship game to the philadelphia Quakers. -
1922
Royal Lures several key players from the quakers to the yellow jackets, who finish the season unbeaten-including a 3-0-1 record against the NFL teams. -
1924
The yellow jackets join the NFL, finishing 11-2-1 overall behind head coach punk berryman. -
1925
The yellow jackets win the NFL championship, but the quakers join a new league formed around red grange-the AFL-and the team dramatically cuys into frankford's attendance. -
1931
Frankford stadium is badly damaged by fire, and some suspect arson.The homeless yellow jackets finish 1-6-1 and disband in early november. -
1933
Burt Bell and lud wray buy the yellow jackets and move the team to philadelphia. The team is named the eagles, inspired by the symbol of franklin roosevelt's new deal national recovery act. They lose their opener 56-0 to the new york giants. A week later in their home debut, they lose to the portsmouth spartans, 25-0 they finish 3-5-1. -
1935
The eagles finish 2-9, and bell buys out wray to become sole owner. -
1936
Bell proposes that the NFl institute a college draft, after a 1-11 season, the eagles move from the baker bowl to municipal stadium.
