Pressure Cooker invented.

Peter becomes Czar!
EVENT#6- In 1689, Peter the Great becomes czar at 17. However, still shares the throne with his half-brother. This is important because he would be one of the best czars ever and he changed his title from czar to emperor. (Core Knowledge Foundation) -
Peter becomes sole ruler
EVENT#7- When Peter's half brother dies in 1676, he has the throne all to himself at 24 years old. Peter's half brother is feeble minded anyway so he was not fit to be czar. EVENT#11- When Peter returned from his trip a year later in 1698 he introduced Russia to potatoes, newspapers, new clothes, and etc. This was important because this was the start of modernizing Russia. EVENT#9- In 1698, Peter established a strong navy and army for Russia. Peter built very good ships and had European drill officers train their army. This was important because at some point they had the strongest navy and army in the world. (World History, Patterns of Interaction) -

EVENT#12- On September 5, 1698, Peter the Great put a beard tax on russian men. He believed that even beards were to primitive so he taxed anyone who didn't shave off their beards. Peter the Great Dies!
Sadly, on Febuary 8, 1725, Peter the Great passes away. It is said that he died from gangrene after an infection. This is important because an era of a great leader has just ended. (World History, Patterns of Interaction)
