    On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama wins the presidential election with 338 electoral votes against John McCain's 161 electoral votes. Barack Obama was the first African-American to be elected president in the United States.
  • First Day of School

    First Day of School
    In August of 2012, my first day of Kindergarten came up. A day before the first day was open house, where my family and I went to meet my teacher for the year. The only thing I remember about open house was hiding behind my parents the entire time as they talked to the teacher.

    In 2015, 9.6% of the world's population was living in absolute poverty, compared to when 60% of the world lived in poverty 50 years prior. In other words, global poverty fell to it's lowest point ever during 2015.

    On August 27, 2018 I was chosen to play the flute for band class. The same night my family and I went and rented a flute for me to bring in the next day. On August 28, I began learning how to play the flute. The first note I learned was a F.
  • California Wildfires

    California Wildfires
    The deadliest wildfire in the nation in at least a century was in California. The wildfire took more than two weeks to dissipate, starting on November 8, 2018 and ending on November 25, 2018. The fire began in the Sierra Nevada foothills, quickly spreading 240 square miles. By the end of the wildfire, at least 80 people were reported dead and 249 were on a list for those unaccounted for.

    December 8, 2018 was the first band I would have ever played in. Although the concert wasn't anywhere near perfect, I would say it was a good concert for an 11 year-old's first band concert.
  • President's Impeachment

    The House of Representatives impeached President Donald Trump on December 18, 2019. They impeached him for abuse of power and the obstruction of Congress.
  • SAIL Test

    In December of 2019, I got the opportunity to take the SAIL test once again. After answering a bunch of puzzle related questions, I was told that I would be taking another test. A day or two after I took the second test, I received an email that told me I have made it into the class.
