The timeline begins on the day I was born and ends on the day this assignment is due.
-
This is one book that I have my earliest memories of. I remember sitting on my mom's lap and asking her to reread this book over and over again before bed every night.
-
I have the fondest memories of my first Head Start teacher, Ms. Monica, reading to the class and having such a calm and nurturing voice. I still stop and say hello anytime I see her.
-
When I was younger I became almost obsessed with this book. I loved Scooby-Doo, and the book came with an electronic "tag reader" that could read the book to you by pressing each word.
-
This is a story that my mom would read to my sisters and I when we were little. The book is about a mother's love for her son and a lullaby she sings to him that he is able to pass on to his own children after she is gone. I get teary-eyed every time I think about how this book is my own version of the lullaby.
-
I remember my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Parrot, reading this book aloud to the class, and although I was very interested in the story and it captured my attention, I was terrified of Miss Swamp (the mean substitute teacher).
-
For my seventh birthday, my grandmother bought me a small collection of Fancy Nancy books and purchased tickets to take me to see a play of one of the books after we read it together.
-
I read these stories to my little sisters after they received the book as a gift. Their favorite princess was Ariel, and there were two stories about her that we would read almost every day.
-
This was the first series of books that I started to read. Each book had a fairy with a different name, and years after I read most of the books, my school library got a copy of Mia the Bridesmaid Fairy. Although I never would have picked up a book at that level any other time, having a fairy that shared my name felt extra special.
-
I was assigned this book to read in fifth grade and went into it without a single clue about the book's ending. Needless to say, I was absolutely heart broken and I will never be able to read this book again without crying.
-
When I was in 6th grade, my school was able to provide a bigger, more diverse book fair and moved the set up to the gymnasium instead of the library where it was usually set up. When my class walked into the book fair for the first time, I was amazed at the amount of books (and toys) that were available.
-
I was assigned this book to read in eighth grade and loved it.
-
This is the first book I ever purchased myself. Instead of borrowing it from the library or asking for the book as a birthday/Christmas gift, I saved up money from babysitting, chores, and odd jobs and purchased the book for myself.
-
I was assigned this book to read during my freshman year of high school and was sure that I was going to hate every word. What actually happened was that I fell in love with the book and made my friend come over after we finished reading to watch the movie.
-
I haven't read this book yet, but I look forward to it. This is a memoir discussing the struggles Jennette McCurdy went through as a child actress and how her career affected her relationship with her mother.
-
This book is about life and the choices we make, and it was able to help me build myself up after a hard time. I hadn't read an entire book for a couple of years before picking this up, and I finished it in just a few days.
-
This is the first book I have ever read in a language other than English. It is a children's book that was written and Spanish and was a gift to my niece.
-
While doing a teacher observation, I was able to help the students in the classroom with their literacy skills, and I was so proud to help them learn and grow.
-
My sister and I would read this book and play the songs on repeat every time we were at our grandmother's house. When my sister had her first child, I was able to find a copy online to gift to her so my nephew could enjoy it as much as we did.
-
I saw this book at Meijer the other day and remembered my mom reading it to my sister and I before bed.
