Personal & Professional History Timeline

  • My Birth-Personal

My birth is important to me because it shows the day I came into the world, and had two parents that will love me for the rest of my life.
  • Mother-Professional

My mom has been in the health care systems for years dealing with math and numbers. When I was little she taught me to love numbers. She always would check my math homework and show me different ways of finding the answer. It has impacted my teaching today because she has gotten me to where I love numbers, and numbers never change, like words do. Numbers in math come easy for me because I love solving, and teaching kids how to solve and find ways to find the answer just like my mom taught me.
  • Math Award-Professional

The math award is important to me because it shows what my favorite subject was, and how good I was at it. I always earned the math award in my class because I can excel and I understand math properly. I started earning the award when i was in second grade and continued all the way to high school graduation. It has impacted my teaching by showing how well I know the material and how well I teach it to students.
  • South Doyle Middle School-Professional

This event was important to me because it made me love kids, and want to teach them what I know and show them I’m here to help them learn. My aunt pushed her kids to excel, and she was always there for them. It has impacted my teaching because it shows me what type of teacher I can be with my kids and how I should be with them.
  • Moving schools-Personal

Changing schools during middle (September 5, 2006) and high school (October 13, 2008) was important to me because I left the school I grew up going to and left my friends to transfer to another where I met some great people and had some great teammates, but come sophomore year of high school I was ready to go back home to the school I transferred from because I missed home and my friends.
  • High School Teachers-Professional

This even was important to me because these two teachers are the reason I wanted to make math fun, and learning fun. They taught me how to love math, and how to teach kids. It has impacted my teaching because objects and teaching styles they used with me, I use today in my practicums.
  • Losing two grandmother's-Personal

Two women who thought I was the world to them, left my life in January of 2003 and May 7, 2010. Today, I where their rings in remembrance of them. They watch over me, and I know I am making them proud. I received my Mimi's large diamond ring on my 18th birthday, and my Mamaw's birthstone ring on my 16th birthday. They go wherever I go.
  • My Baptism-Personal

My baptism is important to me because it shows the day I wanted Christ to come into my life and lead me.
  • High school Graduation and Junior College Graduation-Professional

Graduating from high school and junior college are important to me because it shows how much I love learning. It shows that I want to further my education, and show my future students how far in school I went just to teach them what I know. It has impacted my teaching career by showing the level of schooling I have accomplished and will accomplish by the time I want to teach.
  • College Days-Personal

My college days are important to me because it shows the days I started junior college at Walters State Community College (Aug. 22, 2011-Dec. 13, 2013) and junior and senior years at Carson-Newman University (Aug. 22, 2013-present). It shows how long I was at WSCC and how long I have been at CNU. This shows how long I have been in school just to get the degrees I want. I have already received my associated degree, and now I am currently almost completed getting my bachelor’s in two degrees.
