One news story I found in 2006 was the Mumbai train bombing. It said that there were 7 bombings in 11 minutes on the Suburban Railway in Mumbai. "The bombs were set off in pressure cookers and killed 209 people and injured over 700."

The Winter Olympics were held in this year (2013). It was held in Russia. This only happens every 4 years so I thought that I should put it at least once.
