Rick Riordan was born in san Antonio Texas on June 5, 1964. Riordan is the author of a #1 selling book, having over 30 million copies sold, and having his book translated into 42 different languages. Rick Riordan was a teacher throughout Texas and California for 15 years. Thought the times he has made different types of books, his first full book was called Big Red Tequila, which wasn't a big hit. Ricks first big break through was the lightning thief which lead his way to fame. -
Zeus Bolt Mssing
Percy is accused of stealing Zeus’ master bolt. He is believed to be the one that stole the bolt. Because of the rumors circulating that he is the son of Poseidon, that means there could be someone out for zeus. This is a big deal because sues lightning bolt is a big part to him and what he uses for power. The picture represents that the bolt looks like and what is missing from zeus. -
Family Camp
Since its summer break, Sally Jackson (Percy’s mom) takes him to his favourite camping park. Game who Percy calls Smelly Gabe in his head is not coming, but they borrow his car. Heading to the camp they stopped for rest, later on a huge storm happens and what they didn't expect was a giant minotaur to be there. Racing out in the car they try to hurry up and escape the giant beast. This is a major story because of the commotion happening and not realizing whats happening to them. -
Kidnapped
Since Sally could not get inside the gates to this mysterious Camp, the minotaur takes her for Hades and she disapears in flames. Hades knows Percy will come down to the Underworld to get his mum back, even if Percy must give something in return. This is a major part because of the mother being taken away and captured as hostage and makes percy have to try hard to get his mom back. The picture represents someone being held hostage. -
Camp Half Blood
Percy wakes up four days later in Camp Half-Blood. He is being cared for in the camp's hospital. He sees Grover, and notices... Grover's got the legs of a sheep! He corrects Percy: "No, i'm part GOAT.". This is major to percy because he just realized his friend is half goat and percy is waking up in a random camp and being in a hospital. The picture represents the entrance to camp half blood and how nice the entrance is suppose to be betrayed. -
Medusa Tricks
On their way, they reach a nearly-deserted lot, with one single open shopAunty Em's Garden Emporium. They go inside and meet a slightly friendly woman. Aunty Em. She feeds them burgers, which they eat aggressively . She then asks for a photo that she can make a statue of later. They agree, and pose. It's then that they realize... she's Medusa. This is major for the story because she is very evil and will turn people into stone if you look at her, that is very dangerous for a unexperienced percy. -
The Bolt is Returned
Percy has gone through many different adventures through this book, then he finally has recovered the bolt, not ever meeting his dad. He goes up to the kingdom of zeus and enters infront of all of the gods. Percy is shocked and frozen seeing his dad for the first time ever. This is major because they always thought percy had stolen zeus bolt because of the beef between poseidon and zeus. Seeing poseidon was crazy for percy. This picture represents zeus with his bolt back and having his power.
