The first 183 Japanese aircrafts, bombers, and torpedo planes take off from the aircraft carrier ship. The planes used Honolulu's radio station as a navigation guide. -

A private looks at the radar again and sees 50 plus heading their way. Him and another private call Fort Shafter, the hub of the radar network. -

US code breakers have cracked the diplomatic codes about the attack. General Marshall sends a warning telegraph to Lt. Gen. Short, commander of army forces in Hawaii. -
7:45 am
Japanese air-fighters see the coast ling of Oahu. -
7:55 am
A commander sees a plane and thinks it is a reckless US Pilot. He then sees something black fall out of it and realizes its a bomb. -
8:00 am
12 American B-17s are coming in from the Philippines without the knowledge of what is going on. They didn't have any weapons on board so they just had to dodge the Japanese and try to land. -
8:10 am
A high altitude bomb was dropped, armor piercing bomb, and pierces the forward deck of the USS Arizona setting off more than 1 million pounds of gunpowder creating a huge fireball. -
8:19 am
The USS Arizona is at the bottom, completely sunk. -
8:54 am
The second wave of Japanese air fighters, 35 Fighters, 78 Dive Bombers, and 54 High Altitude bombers. -
9:30 am
A bomb blows off of the ship Shaw. Ship pieces rain down for a mile radius. -
1:00 pm
The Japanese fighter pilots return home to Japan. -
Declaration of War
President Franklin Roosevelt adresses and asks Congress for a declaration of war against Japan. They agree. -
Truman
Harry Truman takes office after FDR's death. Has to decide whether or not to drop the bombs on Japan. -
Atomic Bomb
The first ever atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan by the US in hopes to end the war. -
Second Bombing
Japan did not surrender so the US dropped another bomb on Nagasaki, later Japan surrendered.
