Air Stations
Along with the ships in pearl harbor, the air stations at Hickam, Wheeler, Ford Island, Kaneohe, and Ewa Feild were also attacked. -
How long did the attack last?
The attack from the Japanese lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes!! -
Damage to Weapons
8 of our ships were sunk and 300 aircrafts were destroyed or damaged. -
U.S.S Arizona
The sinking of the USS Arizona ended the legend of the battlecraft. It was supposed to be unsinkable and the Japanese proved that to be very wrong. -
The Helm
The Helm made it out through all of the smoke and the flames and sailed out to see and spotted a japanese submarine stuck, it then the Helm blew it up. -
Declaring war
President Roosevelt addresses Congress and asks to declare war against Japan, they approve. -
Roosevelts speech!
America gathered around their radios and listened to Roosevelts speech saying that we were declaring war. -
The Presidents Standing Ovation
When President Roosevelt entered the chamber of the house he got a standing ovation from both the Democrats and the Republicans. This showed how much our country had come together as one.
