People from the US were warned about there being a possible attack from the Japanese. The attack would most likely be near the Pacific Ocean. -

The Japanese finally decide that they are going to war. It was said that the Ambassador of Hawaii wanted to destroy one of the special code machines. They are then going to Hawaii. -

In the evening of the 6th, the US Government decoded a message that was saying that there was a deadline for the Japanese to attack the US. -
Sending the Message
During the night of December 6th, the message that was sent to the US arrived in Washington. The message wasn't forwarded to the commanders, so by the time it was sent to them the attack had already happened. -
Lacking Information
The US was lacking information on the Japanese aircraft carriers. The US wasn't notified that there was any suspicious activity going on near Pearl Harbor. -
The Attack Begins
In the morning of December 7th, the Japanese started their attack on Pearl Harbor. The first wave of planes that attacked hit many air stations. -
The Second Wave
At 1:30 in the afternoon, the first wave of attacks on Pearl Harbor, There were over 2,000 Americans that died from the attack and over 1,000 that were wounded. -
The Sunken Shps
By 11:15, there were over eighteen ships that were sunken and three- hundred airplanes that were either damaged or destroyed from the Japanese. -
Declaring War
President Roosevelt asked to declare war on the Japanese since they attacked us at Pearl Harbor. -
The Address
In the morning after the attack from the Japanese, President Roosevelt made a speech to the Americans about what happened. The famous words that will always be remembered were "This day will live in infamy."
