  • Currency Act of 1751

    Currency Act of 1751
    An act passed by the British Parliament that called for a withdrawal of notes in the New England colony. This act was implemented due to the overissue of notes for debts by American colonies.[1] The event gave the colonists the first sense of wrongdoing by the British Parliament which helped later in American history by creating a unison thought process.

  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    This proclamation by the Imperial government gave a distinct native-colonial boundary which cancels any western expansion hopes of the colonists.[2] This creates a greater anger among colonists which will help focus their dislike toward British rule.

  • The Gaspee Incident of 1772

    The Gaspee Incident of 1772
    Rhode Islanders board the Gaspee and hurt the captain in addition to sinking the ship.[3] This event really shaped American society because it is the first time where the colonists' patriotism unified their decision to indict British government for all their wrongdoings up to this point.

  • Assembly of the First Continental Congress

    Assembly of the First Continental Congress
    This ensemble was created in response to the Intolerable Acts of 1774 which preceded the Boston Tea Party event. The British shut down the Boston port until they paid for the tea.[4] Important to American Society because it created the first representation from majority of the colonies where they challenged the British government politically.

  • Declaration of Independence July 1776

    Declaration of Independence July 1776
    America finally declares it's independence from Great Britain and was written by Thomas Jefferson. The colonists finally had enough of the harassment from Britain and did something about it. Patriotism is running strong in America and Thomas Paine feeds this fire through his papers in Common Sense.[5]

  • Yorktown Battle

    Yorktown Battle
    This is the conclusive battle of the American Revolution where Americans won the war. Patriotism is running extremely high at this time since Britain finally recognizes America as its own entity.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The official documentation of American liberation from Great Britain. It also gave the Americans very liberal geographic boundaries and previous debts validated.[6]

  • Northwest Ordinance

    Northwest Ordinance
    Act was passed by Congress to grant government access to the Northwest territories.[7] One important as aspect to this event was slavery wasn't allowed and patriotism is spurring on growth throughout North America.

  • Southwest Ordinance

    Southwest Ordinance
    Granted access to the Southwest territories. Important information pertaining to this event is slavery was allowed which will clash later in American history with the Northwest Ordinance.[8]
