When do we use it?
Use the Past Continuous to indicate that a longer action in the past was interrupted. -
COMPONENTS
Subject (I, he, she, it, you, we, they), Auxiliary (to be; was, were) and
Gerund(wastalking, eating, learning, doing, going…) -
FORM AFFIRMATIVE
Subject + was/were + verbo(ing) -
EXAMPLE
--> I was watching TV when she called. -
EXAMPLE
--> My grandmother was not knitting -
FORM NEGATIVE
Subject +was/were + verbo(ing) -
EXAMPLE
--> Was Jack playing with his dog? -
FORM INTERROGATIVE
