In 1828 Andrew Jackson's Democratic party came to power. Led to make/improve the rights of the common man. -

Also known as the National Union Party, which took place before the civil war and they stood against slavery. -
Roosevelt Democrats
He stood for the working man and fought against big businesses. -
Modern Republicans
The modern republicans stand for a more conservative they favor lower taxes and less spending on social programs. -
Modern Democrats
The democratic party today stands for equality of all. They also believe in equal opportunity as well. Equal education for all as well
