    The Flag Was Placed
    In 1860 Stuart plants British flag in the centre of Australia and the Anangu see the white strangers in their country. At first, the Black thought the white were ghosts or devils. In 1860 an explorer called Stuart set out to try and win the prize. He reached the centre of Australia and placed the British flag. But up near Tennant Creek, the traditional owners of the country attacked Stuart's camp with fire and spears.

    In some areas station owners and police attack Anangu to push them off their land. Anangu Started to see more Tjulkura riding into the desert on strange animals when the newcomers camped at spring, they could use up all the water in the day.

    Anangu began to find it harder to get bush tucker, In 1880 A stone church and school were built and Seven Arrente teenagers asked to be baptised.
  • Growth of the town

    Growth of the town
    In 1894, Pastor Sthlow came to Hermannsburg. In the next twenty-five years, the town got a new church, school, sleeping dormitories for children and most importantly a massive eating house. What was cool is that children got lessons in the morning and then they did gardening in the afternoon. In the church, two hundred people had got baptised, and the new religion did not replace traditional life but could be fitted within it. Also in 1918 world war, 1 ended.

    In 1914, A school opened it was built out of timber and iron, White children had lessons in the morning and the Aboriginal children had lessons in the afternoon. Near the Classroom, there was a dorm where some aboriginal people slept at night. In 1916 there were eight boys and twenty-two girls the children often went outside to get some bush tucker as there wasn't much food in the dorm, living there where children aged from 3 to 15 years old.

    In 1921 the first aeroplane landed A few years later the first road trains began to travel up the track to darwin. Also In this time span, the health began to get better in 1928 the first flying doctor service started.
  • Gospel

    In this timespan, they decided to spread the gospel they were riding on camels to spread the word.
    Sadly in this time world war, II started.
  • Anangu

    Pastor Albrecht asked for a place where Anangu could live and hunt without interference, however, there was not enough bush tucker for all the people to live there so he made a deal with the government. If they paid for rations, the mission would set up a depoT at Haasts Bluff But there was not enough water for everyone.
  • Equal

    In 1951 the government developed a policy and that was to make the Anangu live like the white the government went looking for another area for water as there was not enough water and they were lucky enough that they found a place with water under the ground.
