Seleucid Empire Conquered by Mithridates I of Parthia
The eastern part of the Seleucid Empire was conquered by Mithridates of Parthia, leaving the Seleucid kings to rule a rump state from Syria until its ultimate overthrow by the Romans under their general, Pompey the Great
