  • Allied Supreme Council meets In San Rameo.

    This is important because after the Sykes-Pico agreement and the disassemblement of the Ottoman Empire, the area of Palestine fell under the control of the British Empire.
  • Jaffa Riots

    These were the first tensions between Palestinains and Zionist Jews. This event began the tensions between the Jews and Arabs in the region.
  • Palestine Riots

    These riot were over disputes regarding the holy site of the Western Wall. In this dispute, about 130 jews were killed by Arabs.
  • Peel Commission

    Response from the British in regards to violence in Palestine. On this date they arrived in Palestine and recomended that a two state plan would ease tensions.
  • UN Special Committee on Palestine

    On 15 May 1947, the General Assembly of the newly formed United Nations resolved that a committee, (United Nations Special Committee on Palestine), be created to prepare for consideration at the next regular session of the Assembly a report on the question of Palestine. The Committee was to consist of the representatives of Australia, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Guatemala, India, Iran, Netherlands, Peru, Sweden, Uruguay and Yugoslavia.[28]
  • Chapter VI deciscion.

    Assembly that Palestine within its present borders, following a transitional period of two years from 1 September 1947, shall be constituted into an independent Arab State, an independent Jewish State, and the City of Jerusalem.
  • Creation of Palestine and Israel

    General Assembly adopted a resolution recommending to the United Kingdom, as the mandatory Power for Palestine, and to all other Members of the United Nations the adoption and implementation, with regard to the future government of Palestine, of the Plan of Partition with Economic Union, (a sligtly amended version of the plan in Chapter VI of the report of 3 September 1947), as Resolution 181(II) ).   • Israel Rejects Resolution 194

    In 1949, Israel rejects the ideas of Article 11 of Resolution 194. Israel does not admit to any responsibility regarding the Palestinian refugees, and does not want to be held responsible for the refugees. Israel argues that the conflict began when the Arab states decided to attack Israel. Palestinians begin to protest for their right of return.
  • The Six Day War

    After the Six Day War, Israeli forces attack Egypt and gain the final 22% of the remaining Palestine. This 22% included the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. However, this territory is occupied but not owned by Israel. Palestinian groups begin to be more hostile towards the Jews after this event.
  • Oslo Peace Accords

    Both Israel and the PLO sit down to peace talks hosted in Oslo. These pace plans were well thought out giving palestine autonomy, but they fell through.
  • Bid to the UN

    Palestine bids for memebership into the United Nations and it is indefinitly postponed due to backroom negotations.
