When the Spanish Civil War broke out in 1936.Picasso expressed anger and condemnation of the war and fascists through his art. -
Attack on Del Prado Museum
Once the building was bombarded Picasso took on the role of Honorary Director-in-exile of the prado to publisise Franco's desercration of Spain's artistic heritage. -
Bombing of Geurnica
Guernica was hit with very high explosives for over three hours. The town burned for three days and sixteen hundred civilians were killed or wounded. -
Guernica Was Created
As Picasso visits the sight of Geurnica he sketches images for his ucoming picture called "Geurnica" highlighting what he saw in the streets.
