The character comes across an ice trap and falls into a shallow pond, soaking his feet and ankles in freezing water. -

The character is forced to start a fire in order to warm himself up. -

Vincent’s first fire is extinguished from falling snow and is forced to try again. -
Falling Action #3
On his second fire, Vincent’s fingers are so numb that he drops his match and cannot pick it up. -
Falling Action #4
Vincent tries again to light a match but burns his hand and drops the match into the snow. -
Falling Action #5
Vincent looks for help but only finds an abandoned camp. -

Vincent successfully lights a fire and is able to change is shoes and warm up his body. -
Resolution
Vincent limps pitifully into the camp on the Cherry Creek Divide after learning the very tough lesson of one should never travel alone.
