    In ancient times The United Arab Emirates had 1 main ethnic group, 2 main languages and a singular religion. This was The *Semetic(Relating to a family of languages.) Which was composed of many languages. But they mainly spoke 2 languages which were*Arabic (Semetic Language) and *Hebrew (*Semetic language spoken by Jews.) throughout the country. And most people in the country studied *Polytheism.

    In 1819 the British army took over the UAE and the surrounding countries, which greatly affected the language spoken there. The British brought the *ENGLISH language down from Europe and it began to spread throughout the country. Today about 75% of people speak the language as a main or second language. However the British Empire left the area in 1971 but the language was left behind.

    In 1968 many *FOREIGN workers from other South Asian countries began to come to the UAE to find jobs, which affected the ethnicities, languages, and religions. Most people that came to the country were from India as well as people from Pakistan and Bangladesh. 57% of the population are from those 3 ethnic groups alone. Most people that came spoke *HINDI, and *URDU, (spoken in Pakistan). Most of the people in the UAE practice *ISLAM which accounts to 62% of the people as well as *HINDUISM.

    Today the UAE is composed of 7 main Ethnic groups, 6 main languages and 5 main religions throughout the country.However the main languages that were in antiquity are still largely spoken along with *Urdu, *Persian, *Hindu, and *Pashto. Most People today Are *Muslims/*Sunni (Branch of the *Islam religion) and *Hindu’s. But are still polytheistic. But only 12% of the people in the UAE are from the country. But are from countries such as India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
