    Genpei War

    Genpei War
During 1180 BC, Taira no Kiromori put his 2 year old grandson on the throne after the re announcement of the emperor. Prince Mochihito sent a call for a favor to Minamoto clan and Buddhist monasteries but it resulted with the death of Prince Mochihito. This caused Minamoto to have a deeper hatred for Taira which began the Genpei war. I believe this was a significant event because it explains why the Taira and Minamoto clan were fighting and that it started the Genpei war.

The Black Death plague in Western Europe
12 Genoese trading ships docked at the Sicilian port of Messina after a long journey in the Black Sea. When the ships arrived, people were surprised to see that most of the sailors on board were dead, the rest were gravely ill. The Sicilian authorities ordered the ships out of the harbor however it was too late and later lead to the deaths of 20 million people in Europe over the next five years.
